- All entries must be original, new for this contest. Participants are more than welcome to continue the story after the contest concludes.
- Collaborations are welcome.
- Three submissions per person/collaboration.
- Participants must be 18 or older.
- Minimum of 2,000 words and maximum of 10,000 words, not counting the header and a/n.

- All o/s’s must be BETA’d. While this is The Awkward Turtle Contest, we don’t want your submission itself to be awkward to read. We will be validating all entries for grammar, spelling, etc. If there are a large number of errors then your entry will be sent back to you so that you may edit and revise before resubmitting. After all, we all want to read your best work.
- All pairings are welcome; in fact…bring on the non-canon pairings because we love them all!

- While we are totally in love with the awkward, we DON’T want to see any rape, incest, bestiality, abuse or pedophilia.
